Terms of service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using LendingsTree.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. About the service

LendingsTree.com operates an independent loan-comparison marketplace. We connect consumers with third-party lending partners who provide their own loan offers. LendingsTree is not a lender. We do not make credit decisions, determine eligibility, set rates or terms, or fund loans. Any loan you ultimately obtain is between you and the individual lender — we are not a party to that loan agreement.

We are not affiliated with LendingTree, LLC or the official LendingTree website. We operate independently with our own network of lender partners.

3. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old (19 in some states).
• Be a legal resident of the United States.
• Have a valid Social Security number.
• Have a valid email address and phone number.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.

4. Submitting a loan request

When you submit a loan request through the Service:

• You authorize us to share the information you provide with lender partners we match you with.
• You authorize us and our lender partners to verify the information you provide, including through soft credit inquiries that do not affect your credit score.
• You acknowledge that submitting a request does not guarantee you will receive offers, nor does receiving offers guarantee approval or funding by any lender.
• You acknowledge that lenders may contact you by phone, email, or text message regarding your request. You can opt out of these communications, though doing so may limit your ability to receive offers.
• You represent that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and provided by you (not by a third party on your behalf without authorization).

5. No financial advice

The information, calculators, and articles on the Service are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions about borrowing or other financial matters.

6. No offers of credit

Nothing on the Service constitutes an offer of credit. Any rate ranges, payment estimates, or other terms displayed are illustrative only. Actual offers come from individual lenders and depend on your specific creditworthiness, income, state of residence, and other factors evaluated by the lender. Approval is determined solely by the lender.

7. Prohibited uses

You may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Submit a loan request on behalf of another person without their authorization.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our written permission. Note: we explicitly disallow AI training crawlers and similar bots in our robots.txt.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
• Interfere with the Service's normal operation or security.
• Use the Service to collect or harvest personal information about other users.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including all content, design, code, logos, and trademarks (excluding third-party content and marks), is owned by LendingsTree or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LendingsTree, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LendingsTree from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

12. Third-party services and links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (including lender partner sites). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their own terms and policies.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification).

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or unauthorized access.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
